Complete results (round per round) available:
The newspaper reports were so detailed for 1929 that we are able to reproduce, round per round, every game that was played! Of course this would take too much space. Yet, it is possible to figure every game by virtue of the way the results are presented. They are presented in order to reproduce the Knock-out eliminations: As, in a single elimination tournament, everybody can’t lose more than one game, every participant is listed once (in the order they finish), along with their losing score. That’s why champion William Struthers doesn’t have any scores besides his name. However, you can find all of his games or any other game pitched by any participant. How? Taking the top 8 men in the singles, which played in the quarter finals, divide the group in 2, the top 4 (the winners) played the bottom 4 in the same order. So Struthers defeated Arthur Wiles 51-14, Norman Brown defeated Coulter, etc... Same thing with the top 16, split the group in 2, the top 8 played the bottom 8 in the same order: Struthers defeated Howson 50-17, (...) Walter Cook defeated E. Smith 53-38.
NOTE: The original list of entries published in the Horseshoe World totalled 61 entries in the singles.
Three of them either didn’t show up or their results were never reported (there were incidently
3 players who received byes). The three missing players are: Thomas F. Junkin (Fenelon Falls),
R. Teskey and Ed. Crooks (both from Orillia). Five last minute entries were added:
H.A. Stevenson, Thomas and Robert Ellis (all from Toronto), Emerson Brown and Arthur Petch
(both from Clarksburg). That gives us a total of 63 participants. Note that if results were
reported correctly, Walwin and Brown played an extra round, and should have a win added to their records.

***These 3 games were missing from the Nov. 27 report, but were on Nov. 26.
**These two games, covering 2 rounds, were reported on Nov. 27.
We miss 11 first round game results (the losers finished tied for 33rd position). There may have been a bye for some teams, or a few results were ommitted ... Here are two games played “prior” to entering the round involving the top 6
• B. STOKES & T. HAYES, Toronto eliminated 12-51 by Steele & Golden, and
• Alfred & William THORNBACH, Toronto eliminated 48-51 by Grace & Daniels
Three strange matches involved (winning) teams never mentioned afterwards. They were definitely part of the prior round, and the winners probably were eliminated in the next round (featuring the top 64) by one of the teams for which we indicated a bye. Here are the the three “orphan games”, all involving players from Toronto:
• Wm Cairns & Thomas McQueston won 51-39 vs Frank McLeod & Jack McKibbon
• John English & Bentley won 53-26 vs S. Levitt & G. Spencer
• William A. Gammage & L. Rapley won 50-35 vs Fred Cole and H. Rowett
The original list of participants listed 65 teams. The team of William & Russell McLaughlin was added, while 5 others probably never showed up (giving us a total of 61 participating teams): R.
