ANDRE LECLERC


2003 - André LECLERC, L'Epiphanie, QUE.

Born December 13, 1964 in St-Hyacinthe (from Conrad LECLERC and Solange DESMARAIS). Married in 1990 to Sylvianne MOISAN. Parents of a daughter named Sandra (born 1998). Andre started pitching in 1975 in the local league. He took part in the first Quebec provincial championships held for juniors in 1977 (finished 6th). Quebec junior champion in 1979.
Quebec men's provincial champion 9 times:
in 1980 (at age 15), 1982, 1985, 1987, 1988, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1994.
Canadian men's champion 8 times:
in 1984 (at age 19), 1985, 1986, 1987, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1995.
Finished 5th at the 1979 Canadian Junior Boys Championship at Ottawa.
Has pitched two sanctioned perfect games and a few others.
Edited the Quebec yearly newsletter from 1983 to 1988 before passing it to the Quebec federation. Edited the book on the history of horseshoe pitching in Quebec (1958-1988), and the History of Horseshoe Pitching in Canada (1927-2000). Canadian horseshoe pitchers Yearbook editor since 1991-92. Has served as Horseshoe Canada vice-president.
