1992 - George Emery BARTON, Saint.John, N.B.

Born September 1, 1937 in Saint John, New Brunswick. Married to Frances and proud parents of 5 children. Was employed by Irving Oil Refinery. George started pitching in 1967 with the S.J. Horseshoe League of which he has been a member ever since. Threw the flip, right handed, winning the N.B. provincial championship in 1973 and 1974. He then threw the 1 turn and 3/4 shoe.

Has participated in 15 Canadian championships from 1972 to 2000, winning Class E in 1990. His personal best was 47.59 in 1987, while his best game was 78.6% in 1991. His personal best at the provincials was 51.0% in 1974.

Was President of the Saint John H. League from 1972 to 1988, President of the N.B.H.P.A. from 1974 to 199...
