SOLANGE LECLERC


1993 - Solange LECLERC, St-Hyacinthe, QUE.

Born January 18, 1942 in St-Hyacinthe (Solange DESMARAIS). She had two children who pitched horseshoes: Andre (born Dec. 13, 1964) and Helene (born Dec. 2, 1965). Solange started pitching in 1966 in the local league. She took part in the first provincial championships for women from 1975 to the 1990s, missing only one year. Quebec champion in 1979 and 1980. Finished 5th at the 1982 Canadians where she shot a record high game of 84.4%. Was secretary of the Quebec association from 1983 to 1989. Contributed to increase prize money and playing conditions for women in Quebec. Part of the 1987 organizing committee for 1987 Canadian championships.
