This great game was also part of Elmer Hohl's best tournament ever, 
when he averaged 89.1% overall at the 1968 Eastern National.
It was to be the high game of the tournament at 96.6%.  
Elmer started the game with 21 doubles (42 ringers) in a row!
With the score 42-0, we was getting close to a perfect game that
was not to be.  Not yet.  A few weeks later, Elmer also set the record
for high overall average at the World Tournament (88.2%) and
pitched a perfect game of 30 shoes.
