Eric went on to finish runner-up, averaging 70.8% overall. In the game presented above, Andre fired 14 consecutive doubles. It is the longest string of doubles (in the Men's at the Canadians) that we can prove via scoresheet. We believe there were longest strings but unfortunately the records are not available. In 1958, the newspapers reported that Elmer Hohl had 30 consecutive ringers in the first game of the best of three final against Dean McLaughlin. Harold Blackman reported in his column (Toronto Star) that Elmer had 34 consecutive ringers and Dean had a string of 27. In the 1986 finals, it is known that Andre Leclerc had a long string of doubles (probably more than 14) against Ross Stevenson, but the scoresheet can't be found...
