This was the opening game of the 1989 Quebec Provincial
Singles Championships held in Victoriaville.
Diane Cantin then became the first player (to our knowledge)
to pitch a perfect game in a Provincial Championship.
In fact, only two more were pitched after that one.
It is also the second longest perfect game ever pitched
by a Canadian!
In her next game, Diane started with a double, then 
missed after her 38th consecutive ringer.
Despite that perfect game and the high overall average of 80.7%,
Diane did not win the 1989 Provincials.  She finished 3rd(!) behind
Doris Bilodeau and Angeline Moisan who played off for first place.
