Participants are placed in groups of 16, seeded by NatStat %, and each pitch fifteen 40-shoe games hoping to make the top championship group. Stan Leis regularly makes it to the Championship groups as since 2000, he missed the cut-off only once. His best two performances were 1998 (7th in the Championships with 70.9%) and 2002 (8th with 70.05%). Adding to his great showing in the 2002 championships, Stan also shined in the preliminaries, defeating Alan Francis in one of the lowest score ever registered for a 40-shoe game (10 to 8)! 11 of their 20 innings ended with all 4 shoes around the stake. Stan left Alan scoreless for the first 24 shoes! Guelph's John Jansen was the scorekeeper. Note that John was inducted into the University of Guelph Athletics Hall of Fame in 1997 (http://www.athletics.uoguelph.ca/Alumni/Hall/57)
