Sam Tomasevic - outstanding volunteer
Sam Tomasevic is one of our greatest volunteers ever. A long time member of the Greater Vancouver (or Central Park) Horseshoe Club, he started as a junior in 1969.
His involvment as a volunteer started soon after that. He served his club in just about every possible position on the executive from the early 70s to date.
He was also a Vice-President, Treasurer and President of the BCHA, edited their Newsletter (Ringer Round-Up) and created BCHA's website.
Sam was inducted into the BC Horseshoe Hall of Fame in 1997 as an outstanding Organizer/Promoter
(see
Sam's profile here).
Known as BC and Canada's stats man, one of his greatest achievements is the development of Canstats in 1996.
He was the driving force behind the creation of our National Stats Centre and worked with John Hasell to develop the program used during Sam's long term
as our official statistician. Continuing health issues have decided Sam to submit his resignation as the statistician for Canstats.
This page is a modest tribute compare to Sam's huge contribution to the game and our association. Thank you Sam for all the countless hours you devoted to our game!
