Five Canadians that have been World Champions
(From L-R):
Crystal Curtis, Ed Neeb, Sandy McLachlin-Janssens, Steve Hohl and Ross Stevenson.
This picture was taken in 1993 in Stoney Creek, Ontario. It showed 5 of the 6 Canadians who, at that time, had won a World Title in the past (the only one missing was Elmer Hohl who passed away in 1987).
As you may know, for the 7th consecutive year one of the World Champions comes from Canada.
Lucille Leis, by winning the 2006 Senior Ladies division, became the 11th Canadian to win a World Title. Here is the complete list:
- Ross Stevenson (1965 Jr Boys)
- Elmer Hohl (1965, 1968, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977 Men's)
- Steve Hohl (1978 Jr Boys)
