1978 Canadian Championships - CNE, Toronto - Women's group.

This Women's Championship Group picture was taken in 1978, the last year the Canadians were held at the CNE in Toronto. A remarkable group of champions (Back row, from L-R):
Gloria Vanderburg-Wagg (the eventual champ who set a new record that year), Irene Wessels, Mary McVey (also a great promoter in Northern Ontario), Jackie Sehn (Canada's first modern national champion in 1972 and 1973).
(Front row L-R): Sheila McGrath-Leis (1990 champion), Lil Reddon (Manitoba champion), Mary Archer-Spooner (1977 champion), Myrna Kissick (1976-80-81-92-98 champion).
Gloria Vanderburg and Mary Archer went on to become the first Canadian women to qualify at the World Tournament in championship group in 1976.
Sheila and Myrna are both members of the Horseshoe Canada Hall of Fame.
