Gorden Taylor from New Liskeard, Ontario posted that picture on our Horseshoe Canada Forum in 2009.
On the Cup which came from his grandfather, we can read:

From Gorden Taylor: "I'm not sure of the history of the cup, I was told Grampa was a championship pitcher, but haven't been able to find any proof of that."
The first Canadian Championships (doubles) were held in 1927. In 1928, a County and Rural Fair competition was added, regrouping the winners of various agricultural fairs.
The Cup pictured above may have been contested to qualify for the Canadian Championships (see
list of 1928 participants here)
However, not all the County and Rural Fair champions were able to attend the National event.
