2009 Canadian Junior Champions with Keith Lindsay

This picture, courtesy of Penny Hilliker, was taken during the banquet following the 2009 Canadian Championships. The President of the host club, Keith Lindsay, is pictured (center) with Scott Lumb and Lindsay Nooren who retained their title earned last year in Calgary. A record number of 48 juniors participated this year, the vast majority coming from the Aylmer region. As the St.Thomas Times Journal titled on July 14, "Young Aylmer throwers shine". Scotty Lumb captured his laurels in the last round by defeating the 2007 champion Joe Parker 31-12. Both players were tied at 2 losses before that decisive round. Scotty recorded the high average (53.5) and high game (67.5). Lindsay Nooren (Keith Lindsay's grand-daughter) went undefeated to capture the Junior Girls title with a 33.4% average. Her high game was a 42.5% against runner-up Kayla Mackay. Two more members of the dynamic EECC horseshoe club were crowned champion in the PeeWee or Cadets division: Tyler Steenbergen (Boys) and Stacey Pond (Girls). Aylmer and the East Elgin Community Center were excellent hosts. Congratulations and thanks!
