Abby man wins national horseshoe tourney

Dan Coffin, a member of the Abbotsford Horseshoe Club, was crowned the Men's World Class S Champion last weekend at the the 2002 World Horseshoe Pitching Tournament. Coffin won for his class with a win-loss record of 10-3 and averaged 24.23 per cent at the tournament, which was held in Red Deer from July 29 to Saturday. The 78th Annual World Horseshoe Pitching Tournament was hosted by the Red Deer Horseshoe Club. In the tournament, 819 pitchers competed for prize money and trophies, which totaled more than $102,000. From Aug. 8 to 10, men, women, senior men and women and elder competed for the world championships titles in each of their seven divisions. For information on the B.C.
