A Kodak moment with Jack Adams, who is being inducted into the Saskatoon Sports Hall of Fame in the builders category for his contributions to horseshoe pitching. The ceremony goes Nov. 3 at TCU Place.

"I guess (my Kodak moment) would be organizing the sport across Canada. Ontario seemed to be running it all, which was all right for them, but I wanted to get the sport cross country. So after I got out of the military in '73 I went out and tried to get each province involved. The only one I didn't succeed at was Newfoundland; got all the rest.

"It took a while, but we got the people going. In 1979 in Ottawa we had our first Canadian championship.

"We've had the world championships here (in Canada) twice now, too. In 1997 in Kitchener we had 1,740 entries; played at two hockey rinks. You can imagine the clanging that went on in those two rinks."
